Only In Texas – The “War On Birthright Babies”

October 10, 2015 by Lynn Olinger

Birthright School Children

Texas’ “war on birthright babies.”  I wrote about this in August when the Texas school year started. Now it’s made national news, as the Washington Post  opined last week on the “act of stunning official arrogance:”  Texas’ refusal to issue birth certificates – for children born in the US – to undocumented parents. Blameless U.S. citizen children, without a birth certificate,  are denied citizen rights, such as the ability to enroll in public school.  According to the Washington Post, “no other state has pursued such a pernicious campaign against the blameless American-born children of immigrants in this country illegally.”
